Is it possible to rip a CD in FLAC format using iTunes 10.1 for Mac OS X 10.6.5? I know you can rip to Apple Lossless, but FLAC is generally the preferred lossless format for music.
If you can't rip music to FLAC format, what software do you recommend for Mac? I know there are tons of converter software available, I've used Max for converting from Apple Lossless to FLAC, but is there a direct ripper for Mac?
Thanks for any help you can provide!

Dec 26, 2017 The native CD Ripper, iTunes, can only rip CD to MP3, AAC, AIFF, Apple Lossless, WAV. Some programs that batch rip CD to FLAC/MP3/WAV/WMA/AAC/ALAC easily are yet to support Mac OS X system. Actually there are several free Mac programs that can convert CD to FLAC, like X Lossless Decoder and Max. Most Mac users are not aware of taking image of a DVD/CD. In the Disk Utility there is a option to create image file, but even though it creates.cdr format which only supports Mac. So we cannot share our image file with our friends who use other operating systems like Windows or Linux. Here I am going to show you a simple method to create ISO disc image (globally used image format) without.

Cd Rip For Mac Os X 10 12
I have been trying to figure out how to simply copy a music CD. My sister likes me to make copies of CDs and give them to her; if she likes it, then she buys the real thing. I am not looking to sell or pirate anything. It is just a way for her to sample before buying.
This is something that was so simple on my Dell. Why doesn't CD copy software come with Mac OS X? The only option I have found is to rip the CD into iTunes, then create a playlist, then burn a CD from the playlist, then delete the playlist from iTunes. This is way too many steps.
Please do not suggest using another format - my sister is not computer savvy and isn't interested in getting MP3s or DVDs or anything other than a regular old CD.
I have searched online for a CD copier application but have found nothing simple and free. Help!
Maybe I should go back to Windows...ugh.
